SnapJob ("we," "us," or "our") operates the website snapjob.work and related SMS services. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.
1. Information We Collect
From Employers
- Business name, phone number, and email address (if provided)
- Job listing details: title, pay, location, hours, screening questions
- Payment information processed securely by Stripe — we never store card numbers
From Job Applicants
- Phone number (provided when you apply)
- Your name (provided during screening)
- Answers to screening questions set by the employer
- SMS message content exchanged during the screening process
- Language preference (detected automatically from your replies)
Automatically Collected
- IP address and basic request metadata (for rate limiting and security)
- Page views and usage events (e.g., job views, applications started)
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the service: deliver screening questions via SMS, share qualified applicant information (name, phone number, answers) with employers, process payments
- To send job alerts: if you sign up for alerts, we text you when matching jobs are posted
- To improve the experience: remember returning applicants so they can apply faster
- To prevent abuse: rate limiting, profanity filtering, fraud detection
- To communicate: send employers daily digest updates, applicant follow-ups, and job expiry notices via SMS
3. How We Share Your Information
- Applicant → Employer: When you complete screening, the employer sees your name, phone number, and answers. This is the core purpose of the service.
- Twilio: We use Twilio to send and receive SMS messages. Twilio processes your phone number and message content. See Twilio's Privacy Policy.
- Stripe: We use Stripe to process payments. Stripe handles all payment card data. See Stripe's Privacy Policy.
- We do not sell your personal information.
4. SMS Messaging
- By providing your phone number and applying to a job, you consent to receive SMS messages related to that application
- By signing up for job alerts, you consent to receive SMS notifications about matching jobs
- Message frequency varies — typically 3–10 messages per application, and up to 2 alert messages per day
- Message and data rates may apply depending on your carrier
- Reply STOP at any time to opt out of all SMS messages
- We cap outbound messages to 30 per phone number per day to prevent abuse
5. Data Retention
- Job listings are active for 30 days, after which they are closed automatically
- Applicant personal information (name, phone number, screening answers) is automatically deleted 90 days after the associated job closes
- Employer manage links expire 90 days after the job is created
- Job alert subscriptions remain active until you reply STOP or we remove inactive alerts
- We may retain anonymized, non-identifying usage data indefinitely for analytics
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS/TLS encryption, rate limiting, request validation (Twilio webhook signature verification), and secure database connections. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe and never touches our servers.
7. Your Rights
- Opt out of SMS: Reply STOP to any message
- Request data deletion: Contact us and we will delete your personal information within 30 days
- Access your data: Contact us to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
8. Children's Privacy
SnapJob is not intended for anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 16.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
